We honor and respect all those that have given “the last true measure of devotion” so the rest of us may enjoy our freedoms. For this simple reason, we will be closed Monday, May 27th and won’t reopen until 4pm on Tuesday, May 28th.

For those flying the flags of the US and the Commonwealth at half mast, the Gov has ordered, where possible, to fly the POW/MIA flag as well.

At 3:30pm on Monday, we invite all of the Pub community to be silent for one minute, in memory of those that lie in Flanders Field (and beyond):

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Then, come back home, to the Pub.
